Abeta-IN-7 (compound 5a) is a potent inhibitor of Abeta aggregation, stabilizing Abeta monomers at a 50 microM concentration to prevent the formation of larger oligomers and delay the nucleation phase. Comparative studies show Abeta-IN-7 more effectively inhibits Abeta fibril formation than Abeta-IN-8 at the same 50 microM concentration [1].
