  • Antibody Specificity
This antibody is specific for human CB11b. CB11b is implicated in various adhesive interactions of monocytes, macrophages and granulocytes as well as in mediating the uptake of complement-coated particles and pathogens. CD11b is also identical with CR-3,
  • Application Supplier Note
To investigate the role of adhesion molecules in the release of histamine, a histamine release assay was performed on human basophils under influence of the mouse version of this antibody (Watanabe et al, 1992; pmid:1384863). To study the expression of complement proteins on the surface of T lymphocytes, flow cytometry was performed on human T cells using the mouse version of this antibody (Wagner et al, 2001; pmid:11298342). To determine whether PMN ADCC also would be increased by the addition of an antibody/GM-CSF fusion protein and whether this would be associated with the up-regulation and activation of Mac-1, flow cytometry was performed on LA-N-1 neuroblastoma cells using the mouse version of this antibody (Metelitsa et al, 2002; pmid:12010822). Flow cytometry was performed on human full blood to create a standardized test for CD11b expression in PMN cells (Latger-Cannard et al, 2004; pmid:15163315). To study the uptake of L. pneumophila in monocytes using complement proteins, flow cytometry was used on MM6 cells using the mouse version of this antibody (Weissgerber et al, 2003; pmid:12620617). Immunofluorescence on isolated PMN was performed using the mouse version of this antibody to understand the action of surface bound elastase on PMN (Zimmermann et al, 2005; pmid:15718918). To study the interaction between CR3 and phagocytosis, an interaction experiment was performed between CD16 and PBMCs using the mouse version of this antibody as a blocking antibody. Furthermore, this antibody was used to immunophenotype PBMCs (Preynat-Seauve et al, 2004; pmid:14971040).
