  • Antibody Specificity
This antibody is specific for the Wnt-5a binding site on human MUC18.
  • Application Supplier Note
The specificity and cell surface binding ability of this scFv has been confirmed in ELISA, WB and FC analysis (Mohammadi et al, 2017). This scFv recognises cell surface receptor MUC18, expression of which is altered on epithelial tumors, playing an important role in metastasis. In in vitro assays, this scFv significantly inhibits the migration and invasion of an MUC18-expressing cell line (Mohammadi et al, 2017), and has the potential to be employed in breast cancer immunotherapy.

    Human
  • Protein IDP43121
  • Protein Name
    Cell surface glycoprotein MUC18
  • Scientific Description
This chimeric human antibody was made using the variable domain sequences of the original ScFv format, for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.
  • Reactivity
    Human
  • Reactivity Supplier
    Human
  • Reactivity Supplier Note
This antibody was generated by phage display, during which phage were added to immunotubes coated in the MUC18 antigenic peptide. TG-1 bacteria were then infected by the phage before four rounds of panning were performed to select scFvs with high affinity and specificity for the MUC18 epitope.
