This antibody recognises CD30 which is a receptor for TNFSF8/CD30L. It is thought to regulate cellular growth and lymphocytes development as well as gene expression via NF-kappa-B.

This antibody can be used to initiate apoptosis in isolated human peripheral blood eosinophils and thus it might be researched as a potential agent for therapeutic agents for hypereosinophilic diseases useful in the treatment of allergic diseases, respiratory diseases, skin diseases, autoimmune diseases, immunodeficiency diseases, digestive diseases, neoplastic diseases and parasitic infections (US20040156847A1).
