- Antibody SpecificityThis antibody recognises CD31 (PECAM1) which is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and is expressed at various circulatng cells, such as neutrophils, monocytes, platelets as well as on endothelial cells. CD31 is a cell adhesion molecule and is inv
- Application Supplier NoteThis antibody recognises CD31 which is widely expressed on endothelial cells (Parums et al., 1990) and JC70 is a good marker of endothelial cells in paraffin sections. It may be used in the identification and characterisation of benign and malignant human vascular disorders (Parums et al., 1990). For instance, one group utilised this antibody to analyse formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded rat heart tissue in a study investigating relation between cisplatin and oxidative stress (Stojic et al., 2018). Similarly, another group labelled pancreatic tumour tissue samples against CD31 while studying factors influencing development of pancreatic cancer-associated thrombosis (Woei-A-Jin et al., 2016). Finally, Kandemir and colleagues (2012) stained formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded samples of cutaneous Kaposi sarcoma in order to characterise its immunohistochemical profile.
