  • Antibody Specificity
This antibody is specific for murine CD86, an ~80 kDa surface receptor of the B7 family of costimulatory molecules. In addition to CD80, CD86 is a counter-receptor for the T cell surface molecules CD28 and CD152 (CTLA-4). This interaction plays a critical
  • Application Supplier Note
This antibody has been used in multiple FACS experiments for various immunological applications, such as to demonstrate how the C-type lectin receptor DCIR modulates immunity to tuberculosis (Troegeler et al., 2017), to elucidate the mechanism of Th17 cell differentiation by cholera toxin (Kang et al., 2016), and to evaluate the role of the spleen tyrosine kinase in graft-versus-host disease (Flynn et al., 2015). This antibody has also been used in immunofluorescence to investigate the potential of peritoneal cavity B cells to alleviate murine colitis (Maseda et al., 2013) and in Western blot to study the effect of interleukin 4-induced gene-1 (IL4I1) overexpression on the expression of M2 markers and M1-associated cytokines (Yue et al., 2015). Furthermore, this antibody has been used, together with the anti-CD80 antibody, in numerous in vivo studies, such as in an NZB/W F1 mouse lupus model, to clarify the role of CD80 and CD86 in murine Ab-mediated autoimmunity (Nakajima et al., 1995), in graft bearing recipient BALB/c mice to evaluate the roles of CD80 and CD86 costimulatory molecules in corneal allograft rejection (Kagaya et al., 2002), and in transgenic BALB/c mice to demonstrate the critical contribution of CD80 and CD86 in anterior chamber-associated immune deviation (Tsukahara et al., 2005). This antibody has been used for IHC-F on mice salivary gland (Saegusa et al., 2000; PMID: 10632675), eye (Kagaya et al., 2002; PMID: 11878826), and ear (Nuriya et al., 1996; PMID: 8671681) (Ritprajak et al., 2008; PMID: 18461054) (Furusawa et al., 2019; PMID: 30978356) tissue.
