Shown to bind to epitopes of sequences; LLHGDFHAFSAG-GGGC-NH2, LLHGDFH-GGGC-HN2, and FHAFSAG-GGGC-NH2, but showed no reactivity to live HeLa cells by IF.

CD98 may be a target for T or B cell immune responses against tumour cells in cancer patients (Itoh 2008).
