This antibody is specific for protein D8 of the vaccinia virus. It binds above the CS-E binding crevice

The original version of this antibody was used for ELISA on recombinant D8 protein. The binding strength of this antibody was also determined using surface plasmon resonance on VAVC D8 (Matho et al., 2012; PMID:22623786). The original antibody was used for neutralization of a intracellular mature virion. It showed that is was only able to neutralize the intracellular mature virion in the present of complement (Matho et al., 2018; PMID:29123031).
