  • Antibody Specificity
This antibody is specific for human E-selectin. E-selectin is a cell-surface glycoprotein having a role in immunoadhesion. Mediates in the adhesion of blood neutrophils in cytokine-activated endothelium through interaction with SELPLG/PSGL1. May have a ro
  • Application Supplier Note
To test whether the recombinantly created e-selectin was expressed ELISA was preformed with the murine version of this antibody (WO1996040942A1). To test the binding specificity of the human version of this antibody an ELISA was preformed on soluble e-selectin (WO1996040942A1). Neutrophil adhesion to activated ECs under rotating conditions was assayed in the presence of the murine version of this antibody. Neutrophil adhesion to stimulated ECs under rotating conditions was completely inhibited by this antibody (Matsumiya et al, 1999; pmid:10069494). To determine the saferty and pharmokinetics of the murine version of this antibody in patients with newly developed septic shock. This antibody was given to nine patients that survived the first 24 hours of septic shock. This antibody was well tolerated in all patients. Signs of shock resolved in all patients, and organ failure entirely reversed in eight patients (Friedmann et al, 1996; pmid:8605793). To study e-selectin expression in a feline model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion. The murine version of this antibody was used for immunohistochemistry on the heart and coronary arteries of male cats. (Weyrich et al, 1995; pmid:7530283).
