This antibody is specific for the Fya Duffy blood group antigen.

This antibody has been used to successfully determine the phenotype of DAT-positive red blood cell samples, which are otherwise challenging to phenotype due to the presence of surface-bound autoantibodies and/or complement (Lee et al, 2004).
