The binding of this antibody to gammadelta T cells was determined using flow cytometry. This antibody can compete with commercially available anti-gammadelta TCR antibody IMMU510 for binding to gamma-delta T cells. It is proposed that, since there is some competition between the two antibodies, G5-4 binds a similar or identical epitope to IMMU510. In an in vitro proliferation assay, this antibody was reported to positively stimulate the proliferation of gammadeltaT cells. The scFv version of this antibody was also reported to stimulate the secretion of cytokines like IFN-gamma and TGF-alpha. G5-4ScFv-amplified gammadeltaT cells can effectively kill daudi cells, and the killing efficiency is greater than 85% when the effect-to-target ratio is 5:1 (CN103130894).
