Overview
- SupplierAbsolute Antibody
- Product NameAnti-Glycoprotein D of HSV [Fd138-80]
- Delivery Days Customer9
- Antibody SpecificityThis antibody recognizes and binds a shared epitope of glycoprotein D (gD) of HSV1 and HSV2.
- Application Supplier NoteThis antibody protected mice against encephalitis and death following ocular inoculation with the virus. Murine Fd138-80 has been shown to neutralize HSV-1 in vitro without complement. Humanized and murine Fd138-80 were able to cause a 90% plaque reduction at an antibody concentration of 7 nM (1 ug/ml) (PMID: 3010559, 3030642, 2838428). The binding of antibody to HSV-infected Vero cells was tested using fluorocytometry. Immunostaining was used to view Vero cell monolayers infected with HSV-1 and total cell lysis in the presence of Fd138-80. Humanized version of this antibody has similar affinity as compared to its murine version (PMID: 1849279).
