This antibody binds human hemoglobin glycated at the N-terminal valine of the hemoglobin beta chain and does not cross react with non-glycated hemoglobin. Glycated hemoglobin is formed by the conjugation of a hexose sugar to the beta-chain of hemoglobin.

This antibody is recommended for detection of HbA1c levels in plasma and blood samples. The binding reactivity of this antibody towards HbA1c and non-glycated hemoglobin was done using indirect ELISA. The binding reactivity of this antibody to HbA1c was compared to commercially available anti-HbA1c antibody BM300-F7C2 and it was reported that this antibody showed better specificity for HbA1c (CN110724671).
