This antibody is specific for the IMPDH protein in both humans and rodents. IMPDH catalyzes the conversion of inosine 5-phosphate (IMP) to xanthosine 5-phosphate (XMP), the first committed and rate-limiting step in the de novo synthesis of guanine nucleot

This antibody was used for a western blot on proteins from E.coli cells that were made to express IMPDH (Hager et al, 1995; pmid:7763314). HL-205 cells were used in a peroxidase-based western blot with this antibody (Glesne et al, 1991; pmid:1717828).
