Overview
- SupplierAbsolute Antibody
- Product NameAnti-Melan-A [A103]
- Delivery Days Customer9
- Antibody SpecificityThis antibody binds human Melan-A protein. This protein is found on the surface of melanocytes and is an important marker for detection of melanocytic tumors.
- Application Supplier NoteThe binding characterization of this antibody towards Melan-A was done using ELISA. The original mouse IgG1 antibody was able to detect Melan-A from cell lysates of SK-MEL-13, SK-MEL-23, and SK-MEL-28 cell lines in an immunoblot assay. This antibody was also able to immunoprecipitate Melan-A protein from cell lysates of SK-MEL-13, SK-MEL-23, and SK-MEL-28 cell lines. The original mouse antibody was also used in the immunohistochemical analysis of normal skin and two Melan-A positive melanomas SK-MEL-19 and MZ2-MEL3.1 (PMID: 8650193). This antibody was used for detection of Melan-A antigen on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues and in diagnosis of metastatic melanoma (PMID: 9591730). Immunohistochemical analysis with this antibody was useful in the differential diagnosis of adrenocortical neoplasms from both renal cell and hepatocellular carcinomas (PMID: 14663359; 9422316). This antibody has also been explored in the differential diagnosis of ovarian sex cord stromal tumours using immunohistochemistry (PMID: 10823140).
