This antibody binds to the NS1 protein (aa 158 to 352) of WNV lineage I (New York strain 3000.0259) and lineage II WNV (956). No reactivity to Dengue virus-2 (16681) was observed.

This antibody binds the NS1 protein and has a protective function in a C57BL/6 mouse-model . NS1 binds several complement proteins (C1q, C1s, and C4) and regulators (factor H, C4 binding protein, and clusterin)and antagonizes their functions
