  • Antibody Specificity
This antibody is specific for human p63, a type II transmembrane protein identified in the rough endoplasmic reticulum. Surface expression of p63 is characteristic of differentiated plasma cells, due to their high secretory activity. As a result, p63 acts
  • Application Supplier Note
This antibody has been used to detect cells expressing p63, which is characteristic of B cells, in flow cytometric analysis of B cell surface antigen expression (Exley et al, 1987), and, similarly, to assess the extent of differentiation of Daudi cells towards the plasma cell phenotype by flow cytometry (Clemens et al, 1988). In immunofluorescence assays, this antibody strongly stains plasma cells in acetone-fixed human tonsil sections, particularly in inter-follicular T-dependent areas, in and around germinal centres and in subepithelial areas (Johnson et al, 1985). This antibody also strongly stains acinar epithelial cells in thyroid sections.
