This antibody recognizes tetanus toxoid and binds to the epitope VH Q52N; VK 12/13 (recognizes linear epitopes).

Tetanus also known as lockjaw is caused by an infection with the bacterium Clostridium tetani, which is commonly found in soil, saliva, dust, and manure. The bacteria generally enter through a break in the skin such as a cut or puncture wound by a contaminated object. They produce toxins that interfere with normal muscle contractions. This antibody can be used to bind and detect tetanus toxoid in Western blot and ELISA.
