This antibody binds tetracycline. Tetracycline, is an antibiotic derived from microorganisms of the genus Streptomyces and are broadly used to treat bacterial infections. This antibody is reported to cross-react with aureomycin and also shows weak reactiv

The binding characterization of this antibody for tetracycline was done using ELISA. Additionally, this antibody was also capable of cross-reacting with aureomycin, oxytetracycline and doxycycline in an ELISA. The colloidal gold labelled version of this antibody was used for the development of colloidal gold test strip for detection of tetracycline hydrochloride (CN103396484).
