The antibody is specific for TGFbeta2. It does not cross-react with TGFbeta2 or TGFbeta3.

The specificity of the original format of the antibody was confirmed by ELISA analysis. The ability of the scFv fragment to recognise TGFbeta1 and neutralise binding of TGFbeta1 to A549 cells was measured in the radioreceptor assay. The scFv fragment was a highly potent, neutralising antibody for TGFbeta1, with IC50 values in the range 0.03 to 0 1 nM. In particular, the scFv fragment could neutralise active, but not latent, TGFbeta1 (US7151169B2).
