- Antibody SpecificityThis antibody is specific to TLR2 (extracellular domain) and does not crossreact with human TLR1 or TLR4. TLR2 is involved in the immunological response against bacterial lipoproteins and other microbial cell wall components.
- Application Supplier NoteTL2.1 antibody has been reported as an effective inhibitor of TLR2-dependent cytokine production and might be used to control and manipulate signalling pathways related to TLR2 (Flo et al., 2000). This antibody has also been exstensively used in flow cytometry and TL2.1 is recommended for the use in flow cytometric investigation of TLR2 expression (Jamin et al., 2015; Wang et al., 2016). For instance, one group treated dendritic cells with azithromycin and observed that this substance supressed TLR2 expression detected via flow cytometry (Lin et al., 2016). Finally, this antibody has been successfully applied in immunofluorescence analysis of TLR2 expression in various cells. One group utilised TL2.1 antibody to investigate TLR2 expression (among others pathogen-related receptors) on SRIK-NKL cells. CD8+ NK/T cell line (Srivastava and Srivastava, 2005).
