  • Scientific Description
Recombinant Antibody. This antibody reacts to human UP2. Isotype: Rabbit IgG. Immunogen: A peptide corresponding to residues near the C-terminus of human UP2. Application: IHC, WB. Liquid. 50% Glycerol/PBS with 1% BSA and 0.09% sodium azide. The protein components of uroplaques are composed of uroplakins (UPs), which are a family of transmembrane proteins, including UPIa (27 kDa), UPIb (28 kDa), UPII (15 kDa), and UPIIIa (47 kDa). UPs are exclusively expressed in the normal urothelium and are undetectable in non-urothelial tissues. They are usually present at the apical surface and cytoplasm of umbrella cells but absent in the intermediate and basal cells. Although UPs are the major differentiation products of the urothelium, they are not significantly downregulated during urothelial malignant transformation. Using immunohistochemical staining it was shown that more than half of invasive and metastatic urothelial carcinomas (UCs) continued to express UPs. Uroplakin II (UP II) is a 15 kDa protein component of urothelial plaques that enhance the permeability barrier of the urothelium. Uroplakin II (UPII) is considered as a sensitive marker for urothelial carcinoma (UC). - The protein components of uroplaques are composed of uroplakins (UPs), which are a family of transmembrane proteins, including UPIa (27 kDa), UPIb (28 kDa), UPII (15 kDa), and UPIIIa (47 kDa).
