This antibody is specific for VIM-4 M beta L. The main epitope of this antibody is amino acid 99 to 133.

The epitope of this antibody was determined using ELISA on different parts of its antigen. The ability of this antibody to inhibit VIM-4 was shown. The presence of this antibody inhibited activity of VIM-4 against imipenem, benzylpenicillin and cephalothin (Sohier et al., 2013; PMID:23289540).
