This RT-qPCR assay is designed for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 (2019 Novel Coronavirus) virus in human nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab specimens. Its high-specificity is achieved through the use of dual primers and TaqMan probes targeting conserved regions of the SARS-CoV-2 (2019 Novel Coronavirus) N gene and RdRP gene sequences recommended by the WHO and the US CDC. Following RNA extracted from samples, use this one-step assay to reverse transcribe the RNA and PCR amplify any target nucleic acids in order to quantitatively detect the presence of SARS-CoV-2 in less than 2 hours. The kit uses human-derived ribonuclease P (RNP) as an internal control gene, which can monitor the sample collection and extraction process to avoid false negative generation to the greatest extent. The test is for Research Use Only and cannot be used as the basis for diagnosis or therapeutic treatment.
