(-)BI97D6 is a broad-spectrum inhibitor of the Bcl-2 protein family, exhibiting inhibitory effects on Mcl-1, Bcl-2, Bcl-xL, and Bcl-w, with IC50 values of 0.025, 0.031, 0.076, and 0.122 microM respectively. This compound stimulates cell death through the mitochondrial apoptosis pathway mediated by Bak and Bax. Additionally, (-)BI97D6s inhibition of Mcl-1 effectively induces apoptosis in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells.
