  • Scientific Description
Chemical. CAS: 1205538-83-5. Formula: C38H57N9O8. MW: 767.9. Synthetic. Originally isolated from Mortierella alpina. Specific anti-mycobacterial. Inhibits growth of Mycobacteria smegmatis but also Mycobacteria tuberculosis. M. smegmatis is used as a model for mycobacterial species. It is useful for the research analysis of other Mycobacteria species in laboratory experiments. M. smegmatis is commonly used in work on the mycobacterium species, since it is a fast grower and non-pathogenic. - Specific anti-mycobacterial.
