DC-SIGN/CD209 Protein, a probable pathogen-recognition receptor, mediates the endocytosis and lysosomal degradation of pathogens. It recognizes high mannose N-linked oligosaccharides in pathogen antigens in a calcium-dependent manner and functions as a receptor for ICAM3, potentially through binding to mannose-like carbohydrates.
