Dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP-IV) is a protease that inactivates insulin stimulating hormones such as glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulin-like polypeptide (GIP). Dipeptidyl peptidase IV can be used as a binding protein and ligand for various extracellular molecules. Dipeptidyl peptidase IV can be used in diabetes research[1][2].
