  • Scientific Description
Estrogen-related receptor 2 (ERR beta, ERR2) is an orphan member of the nuclear hormone receptor superfamily. All the ERR family members share an almost identical DNA-binding domain, which has 68% amino acid identity with that of estrogen receptor. It has been shown the ERR2 plays a critical functional role in placental development. The corresponding gene for the ERR2 is NR3B2.
