Siderocalin-like lipocalin tightly binding a variety of bacterial ferric siderophores, also binds long-chain unsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic acid, oleic acid, arachidonic acid and, with a lower affinity, long chain saturated fatty acids such as steraic acid.
