- Scientific DescriptionRabbit polyclonal to FANCI.Fanconi anemia, complementation group I (FANCI) is required for maintenance of chromosomalstability. It plays a role in the repair of DNA double-strand breaks by homologous recombination andin the repair of DNA crosslinks. In response to DNA damage it is involved in the S phase and G2phase checkpoints of the cell cycle. FANCI also promotes FANCD2 ubiquitination and recruient toDNA repair sites. Fanconi anemia is a genetically heterogeneous recessive disorder characterized bycytogenetic instability, hypersensitivity to DNA crosslinking agents, increased chromosomal breakageand defective DNA repair.
