FKBP2 protein plays a central role in the complex process of protein folding and is an important peptidyl prolyl cis-trans isomerase (PPIase). Its unique ability to catalyze the cis-trans isomerization of proline imide peptide bonds accelerates dynamic conformational changes that are critical for efficient protein folding.
