- Scientific DescriptionGadoterate meglumine (Gd-DOTA) is a non-specific paramagnetic gadolinium complex used as a contrast enhancer in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Gadoterate meglumine, as a contrast agent in MRI, is able to shorten the longitudinal relaxation time (T1) of tissue, resulting in a brighter signal in MRI images. Gadoterate meglumine can be used for the study of the central nervous system (such as the brain and spinal cord), abdominal, pelvic organs, breast, bone and joint imaging, angiography, and cardiac electrophysiology [1] .
