HSD-016 is a potent, selective and orally active 11beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11beta-HSD1) inhibitor with IC 50 values of 11, 1 and 8 nM against human, mouse and rat 11beta-HSD1, respectively. HSD-016 can be used for type 2 diabetes research [1] .
