- Scientific DescriptionHuman LILRA3, also known as Leukocyte Ig-like receptor 4 (LIR-4), CD85 antigen-like family member E, Immunogobulin-like transcript 6 (ILT-6) and monocyte inhibitory receptor HM43/HM31, is a 70 kD Ig superfamily member that belongs to the leukocyte receptor complex/cluster. Mature LILRA3 is 416 amino acids (aa) in length and contains four C2-type Ig-like domains. Unlike other LILR family members, LILRA3 is actively secreted.LILRA3 acts as soluble receptor for class I MHC antigens. LILRA3 binds both classical and non-classical HLA class I molecules but with reduced affinities compared to LILRB1 or LILRB2. Binds with high affinity to the surface of monocytes, leading to abolish LPS-induced TNF-alpha production by monocytes.
