Isoxaflutole (Merlin; RP-201772) is a selective herbicide for pre-emergence control of a wide range of important broadleaf and grass weeds in corn and sugarcane. Isoxaflutole is a precursor and delivery vector of diketonitrile (DKN), which is an inhibitor for 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD), leads to a characteristic bleaching of susceptible species [1] .
