Klotho-derived peptide 1 (KP1 human) hydrochloride blocks TGF-beta/TGF-beta receptor 2 interaction, inhibits TGF-beta-induced activation of Smad2/3 and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), and exhibits anti-fibrotic and kidney protective effects in mouse model [1] .
