  • Protein Name
Mediator of RNA polymerase II transcription subunit 14
  • Scientific Description
Rabbit polyclonal to MED14.Mediator complex subunit 14 (MED14) is a component of the Mediator complex, a coactivatorinvolved in the regulated transcription of nearly all RNA polymerase II-dependent genes. Mediatorfunctions as a bridge to convey information from gene-specific regulatory proteins to the basal RNApolymerase II transcription machinery. Mediator is recruited to promoters by direct interactions withregulatory proteins and serves as a scaffold for the assembly of a functional pre-initiation complexwith RNA polymerase II and the general transcription factors.
