Methicillin sodium hydrate is a narrow-spectrum beta-lactam antibiotic, acts by inhibiting penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). Methicillin sodium hydrate is active against Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis that are resistant to other penicillins.
