Osteoclast cells (human) are bone marrow mononuclear cell-derived osteoclast precursor cells (1.5x106cells/vial). For guaranteed optimal recovery and differentiation we recommend Osteoclast Wash Medium (PMC-OSCMW) and CSF/RANKL-containing Osteoclast Culture Medium (for human) (PMC-OSCMHB). Together, these products are useful for studies of osteoclast formation, bone resorption, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, Pagets disease and others. Bone mass is controlled by the dynamic interplay of bone-forming osteoblasts and bone-degrading osteoclasts. In recent years, a system has been established that induces bone marrow cells to differentiate into osteoclasts using M-CSF (Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor) and RANKL (Receptor Activator of NF kappa B Ligand). Osteoclast cells (human) are bone marrow mononuclear cell-derived osteoclast precursor cells (1.5x106cells/vial). Upon receipt of dry ice-packaged shipment directly from Japan, either immediately store in liquid nitrogen or introduce cells directly into culture. Biosafety level 2 containment precautions should be used when handling this product.
