The IGF2BP2 protein is an RNA-binding factor that coordinates the recruitment of target transcripts into cytoplasmic mRNP, promoting mRNA transport and transient storage. It regulates the contact of target transcripts with the translation machinery and protects them from microRNA-mediated degradation.
