Defensins are cationic peptides. It is an important ingredient of the innate immune system. bèta-defensins are expressed on some leukocytes and epithelial surfaces. Four human bèta-Defensins have been identified to date: BD-1, BD-2, BD-3 and BD-4. In addition to their direct antimicrobial activities, they are chemoattractant towards immature dendritic cells and memory T cells.

Stored at ≤ -20°C, stable for one year after receipt. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 2-8°C for 2-7 days and at -20°C for 3 months.
