SARS-ACN/1 (residues 340-390) protein.The protein contains the Nucleocapsid protein immunodominant fragments, amino acids: 340-390.SARS-ACN is purified by proprietary chromatographictechniques.SARS Coronavirusis an enveloped virus containing three outer structuralproteins, namely the membrane, envelope, andspike proteins. The nucleocapsid protein togetherwith the viral RNA genome presumably form a helicalcore located within the viral envelope. The SARS-CoVnucleocapsid protein is a 423 amino-acid, predictedphosphoprotein of 46 kDa that shares little homologywith other members of the coronavirus family. A shortserine-rich stretch, and a putative bipartite nuclearlocalization signal are unique to it, thus suggesting itsinvolvement in many important functions during the virallife cycle.
