- Scientific DescriptionChemical. CAS: 60687-07-2. Formula: C32H30O14. MW: 638.6. Isolated from Penicillium oxalicum. Mycotoxin. Common contaminant in corn and other grains. Hybrid dimer of Blennolide A and B. Cytotoxic anticancer compound. Reported to induce apoptosis by modulating RhoGDI 2 levels in HL60 cells. Protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) inhibitor (IC50=9.6microM). PTP1B is thought to function as a negative regulator of insulin and leptin signal transduction and therefore being involved in type 2 diabetes and obesity pathology. Antimicrobial agent against Bacillus megaterium. Allelopathic agent. - Mycotoxin. Common contaminant in corn and other grains. Hybrid dimer of Blennolide A and B. Cytotoxic anticancer compound.
