Uricase from porcine liver. The enzyme catalyzes oxidation of uric acid to allantoin. Activity of preparation is about 40-100 U/g of protein. One unit will convert 1 micromol uric acid to allantoin per minute, pH 8.5 at 25 0 C. The preparation is useful in diagnostic kits for determination of uric acid.
