Valacyclovir hydrochloride hydrate is a potent antiviral agent. Valacyclovir hydrochloride hydrate can be used in the management of herpes simplex, herpes zoster and herpes B. Valacyclovir hydrochloride hydrate can be formulate ocular inserts for the research of ocular herpes. Valacyclovir hydrochloride hydrate is a precursor and can be rapidly converted into acyclovir in vivo[1][2].
