VIT-2763 is an oral small-molecule inhibitor of ferroportin. It displaces TMR-hepcidin from ferroportin with an IC50 of 24 nM. It also ameliorates anemia, enhances erythropoiesis, and reduces organ iron loading in the Hbbth3/+ beta-thalassemia intermedia disease model.
