2,2-Dihydroxy chalcone is a potent inhibitor of beta-glucuronidase (IC50=1.6+/-0.2 microM) and lysozyme (IC50=1.4+/-0.2 microM) release from rat neutrophils stimulated with fMLP/CB.2,2-Dihydroxy chalcone has inhibitory activity against Escherichia coli, Shigella fowleri, Staphylococcus albicans and Staphylococcus aureus.
