8-Hydroxyguanine hydrochloride is a DNA damage product under oxidative stress, which is formed when hydroxyl radicals attack guanine in DNA. 8-Hydroxyguanine hydrochloride induces mutagenesis and leads to a transversion from G to T. 8-Hydroxyguanine hydrochloride is a marker of DNA oxidative damage[1][2].
