Scientific Description
The CAG promoter is a hybrid of the cytomegalovirus (CMV) early enhancer element and chicken beta-actin promoter. The CAG promoter is used to drive high levels of gene expression in mammalian expression vectors. This AAV serotype 8 virus (Capsid from AAV8 and ITR from AAV2) expresses eGFP (Green Fluorescent Protein) under the control of CAG promoter.
